Kindergarten News Week of February 21
Dear Parents: I hope everyone enjoyed the long week-end. We'll be doing a number of activities this week related to President's Day. A dental hygienist is coming to speak to kindergarten on Wednesday.
Language Arts: We'll be reading Bunny Day, an animal fantasy book this week. Our target skill is to recognize the sequence of a story. We have several new high frequency words including: are, that and do.
Bible: Our memory verse this week is from Galatians 6:9, “Let us not grow weary of doing good.” We'll continue the lessons on being kind to one another.
Math: We'll copy line segments, order objects by length and measure using nonstandard units. The children will make A-B-C patterns and act out addition stories.
Handwriting: Students are writing in their journals daily. The size, spacing and proper use of upper and lower case letters will be practiced. Lower case letters j, y and p are highlighted this week.
A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Lacy who is providing our snack as we eat through the alphabet with letter P on Friday.
I'm so grateful to be able to teach your lovely children! I thank God for them daily.
