Raised in Charlotte, Ms. Teri Perna attended Appalachian State University and received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she moved to New York where she began her teaching career. She taught for twelve years in a variety of elementary grades while receiving her Master of Science in education at SUNY, New Paltz.

Ms. Perna has three children: Erin, Ross, and Chad. She enjoys life in Huntersville and attends Grace Covenant Church. In 2004, after experiencing GCA as a Pre-K parent, she knew God had plans for her to join the GCA staff and use the gifts He had given her as a teacher. She is excited about teaching through God's Word and looks forward to providing a secure, fun classroom where students can develop a passion for learning.

Favorite Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11-13~"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and
not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me."
