Welcome back to school and to First grade!
We are off to a good start. The first week was spent reviewing and learning the classroom routine. All the students have settled in nicely. I have been blessed with an awesome class and parents! We all had fun, eating watermelon during the math lesson on estimation!
BIBLE VERSE: “All wrongdoing is sin.” 1 John 5:17
These are some of the things we will be learning in first grade this week: Language Arts: We will continue with reviewing the letters of the alphabet, and basic sight words. In Grammar, we will discuss sentence structure; starting our sentences with capitals and ending with punctuation. Math: Estimating, graphing, ordering of numbers, using logical reasoning to solve problems, matching numbers to a set, identifying first, last, between, and middle. Science: The sense of sight.
Dates to Remember September 1: Please send in an empty coffee can with a lid for your child to use during our Bible lesson. September 1: First Chapel in Clanton Hall September 6: No school/ labor day
Thanks again for allowing me, the privilege to minister to your child. I am anticipating a great year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or suggestions you may have.
In Him, Mrs. McCan
