Having lived in the Charlotte area since age 3, Gwen is practically a native. After high school, she was not ready to give up riding and showing horses, so she stayed in town and graduated with honors from UNCC with a B.A. in Elementary Education. While working in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system, Gwen obtained her Master's Degree in Reading Education from Winthrop University. With over 12 years of teaching experience in both the public and private school setting, she is overjoyed to follow God’s calling at GCA. Gwen is looking forward to partnering with parents to develop each of her student’s academic, spiritual, and social skills to their highest level.

She and her husband, John, have two children who are both GCA students.  She enjoys sewing, reading educational books and the Bible, riding horses, and doing Sudoku puzzles. Gwen and her family regularly attend Grace Covenant Church.
