Welcome to Grace Covenant Academy!

Grace Covenant Academy, located in the Lake Norman area, is a private Christian school with excellent academics, Biblical values, and new facilities. It is an exciting place to learn! Starting with Pre-K and continuing through Fifth Grade, GCA’s growth has resulted from a commitment to provide a place where children develop eagerness for learning in a dynamic Christ-centered environment.

GCA is located on the campus of Grace Covenant Church at Exit 25 on I-77 in Cornelius, NC.

Within this website, you'll see some of the activities at GCA. Although it would be impossible to capture every day in print, we love to share special times with you, friends and family. Enrichment Teachers

Physical Education: K-5th Grade

Meagan Leopard

Exercise is a lifesaver in physical education! During class this year, we will learn about our circulatory, digestive, and respiratory system; the food pyramid; fitness; and sports, such as soccer and basketball. Because it is important to me to teach your children healthy habits, from their food choices to exercising, we are now preparing and practicing for the Presidential Fitness Challenge, a program that encourages all Americans to make being active part of their everyday lives (see www.presidentschallenge.org for more information). The Challenge includes six events: sit and reach, shuttle run, curl ups, pull ups, push ups and the mile run. I have encouraged the students to prepare and practice at home as well! Each student will receive a certificate stating which level they accomplished in the challenge.

Please don’t forget to have your children wear tennis shoes on P.E. days! They may need coats on some days, because we always go out as long as the temperature is above freezing. I am having so much fun teaching your children about the wonderful bodies that God has created for them!
